Embassies and international partners

An embassy pavilion, and a Grove in your country’s name

Every option is offered for an embassy’s own selection, at its own pace. Exhibition places are significantly subsidised, and a significant share of what each level raises goes directly to mangrove seedlings, planted and GPS-tagged in the participating country’s name.

A three-year framework · December 2026 to November 2029

A three-year framework: a Grove in your country’s name

From December 2026 to November 2029, recorded in a Memorandum of Understanding that can be signed at the dinner on 3 December. At its heart is a regular contribution of mangrove seedlings, raised in community nurseries, planted by trained community groups at the Kwetu Training Centre for Sustainable Development and the wider Kilifi coast, GPS-tagged in your country’s name, checked for survival at six months and reported after every cycle.

  • Larger contributions, or a combination of rhythms, can be arranged.
  • Seedlings may be supported directly or provided in kind through community nurseries.
  • Each programme year can be settled in one annual contribution, made before the year starts. We issue a pro forma invoice for each year and an official receipt when it is settled.
  • Each contribution includes the booking charge of US$ 15, and the balance is based on about USD 0.77 for each seedling raised, planted, tagged and monitored.

What the framework brings

  • Measured resultsGPS-tagged planting, survival checks at six months, a report after every cycle and an annual summary to share with ministries at home.
  • Visibility at every activationThe embassy is invited to plant at each cycle and is recognised in the Impact Report, the Partner Activation Certificate and media coverage.
  • A home for your communityBusinesses, NGOs, community groups and students may join each cycle and be named in the acknowledgement of the Grove.

Seat categories are Standard, Preferred, VIP and VVIP. VVIP seats are subject to protocol and to who attends on the night.

Every level funds a seedling at about USD 0.77 to 0.78

Divide any level’s contribution by its seedlings and the answer is almost the same, so a larger level is more of the same planting, not a different price.

Seats grow faster than the price

Two seats at Entry become ten at Strategic, and the seat mix moves from Standard to Preferred, VIP and VVIP.

Moving up is allowed

You can move to a higher level at any time before 3 December. Seats and spaces are allocated in the order of confirmation.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Where is Blue Carbon Action 2026 held?

On the coast of Kenya, at three venues: the dinner and awards at Vipingo Ridge on Thursday 3 December, the beach clean-up and exhibition at Nyali, Mombasa, on Friday 4 December, and the community mangrove planting at Kwetu Centre, Mtwapa, on Saturday 5 December. See the venues page.

How can an organisation take part in Blue Carbon Action 2026?

Choose one of four levels: Entry (about USD 1,940), Anchor (about USD 3,865), Major (about USD 7,715) or Strategic (about USD 19,265 and above). Each funds mangrove seedlings GPS-tagged in your name and includes dinner seats, a stand, recognition and a place on planting day. See every package and compare the levels on one page.

What is the difference between the Entry, Anchor, Major and Strategic levels?

Entry funds 2,500 seedlings with 2 Standard dinner seats and a smaller stand. Anchor funds 5,000 seedlings with 3 seats, a larger stand and a speaking slot. Major funds 10,000 seedlings with 5 seats, a premium double stand, a welcome from the stage, one award to present and a named planting zone. Strategic funds 25,000 seedlings or more with 10 seats including VIP and VVIP, a flagship stand with a partner lounge, presenting-partner status for the dinner and a ceremonial planting. See the full comparison.

What is the cheapest way for a company to take part in Blue Carbon Action 2026?

The Entry level, at about USD 1,940, funds 2,500 seedlings in your name and includes 2 dinner seats, a stand for three days, your logo on screen and in the programme, and a place on planting day. Every level funds a seedling at about USD 0.77 to 0.78, so a larger level is more of the same. You can move up at any time before 3 December.

How is the value of taking part measured?

We agree the measures with you before the event: seedlings planted and their survival at six months, checked with the Kenya Forest Service; visitors to your stand; decision-makers you met; colleagues who took part; media and social reach; and your contribution to the event results. You receive a Partner Activation Certificate, an Impact Report, a Commitment Wall record and a Media Coverage Archive. We do not claim carbon credits for the planting.

Who will be at Blue Carbon Action 2026?

We have invited national government, the six Coast county governments, banks, insurers and regulators, ports and logistics firms, universities, tourism and hospitality, manufacturers and waste and circular-economy enterprises, embassies led by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, development partners, communities, youth and media. We are targeting more than 1,000 participants on planting day, ten exhibition zones, six Coast counties and thirty or more strategic partners, and we will report the actual figures.

Can my company show a vehicle or product, or provide vehicles?

Yes. The higher levels include a stand large enough to show a vehicle, and we welcome buses for volunteers and student groups, trucks for the waste collected at the clean-up and pickups for seedlings and tools. Vehicle support is recognised separately from the contribution. Read about the showcase and mobility partnership.

What are the dinner seat categories?

Standard, Preferred, VIP and VVIP. VVIP seats are subject to protocol and to who attends on the night. Seats are allocated in the order of confirmation, and dinner seats are also available separately for directors, staff and guests.
